My Story with NITYR® (nitisinone) Tablets

When Alina’s parents learned she had Tyrosinemia Type 1 (HT-1), they were understandably concerned. But, with NITYR, they have a safe, proven medicine that allows Alina to live life to the fullest.

"To have medicine that can be given to the patient without it being cooled is very helpful."

One major benefit of NITYR is that NITYR doesn’t need refrigerating and can be kept at room temperature. This makes life much easier for Alina’s parents, Sana and Muhammad. They don’t need to worry about storage, or having to carry an ice-box with them when they take Alina out. Instead, they can focus on enjoying their day.

"Giving NITYR to Alina is very simple."

Although Alina’s not yet on solid foods, it’s no problem giving her NITYR. All Sana and Muhammad have to do is dissolve two tablets in an oral syringe with a little water and Alina doesn’t even notice it when she takes her medication.

Please read the Full Instructions for Use or watch the animated video on how to administer NITYR using an oral syringe.

The tablets themselves are small1 (baby aspirin sized), so when Alina moves on to solid food, she’ll soon be able to swallow the tablets herself. This may help her start taking her nitisinone medication more independently early on.

"The NITYR Patient Support Program gives us peace of mind. It’s amazing."

The NITYR Support Program, Cycle Vita™, is there for every step of Sana and Muhammad’s journey.* We offer education, training and all kinds of support online, by phone, at events and during home visits. We also provide them with proactive refill calls and we deliver NITYR to their door. This saves them the bother of having to collect it from a pharmacy.

Call your doctor today to see if NITYR is right for you or your child.

"My daughter has been taking it from day one. She’s healthy. She’s growing up. You should give it a go."

Muhammad has a message for others who are considering trying NITYR:

"There is nothing to worry about with NITYR. You should talk to your doctors."

*Some areas of support may not be accessible to all patients. Eligibility criteria may apply to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements, and benefits may be limited to commercially insured patients only. At the time of filming, Alina was taking NITYR. Alina, Sana and Muhammad were compensated for their time.
